Conversion to Coil on Plug coil packs

A question, has anyone done any research on getting a stronger spark by - fitting the more modern coil packs, that mount on the plug rather than having HT leads? I'm thinking it should improve the burn...?

updates a wasted spark Mitsubishi 16 value, 4 cylinder engine to coil-on-plug ignition.

Aside from a comment in the video that performance at high revs were improved, there was no mention of what improvements (if any) were achieved, but there is a response to this question in one of the comments where this answer was given:
"It does add a little bit on it's own, but it's not a massive difference. It's more aimed at supporting future mods and tuning to actually create more power."

So a small performance improvement for significant farnarckling around, and lots of money. Not really very appealing...
