What ignition wires to buy?

I didn't see this topic in the Part Cross-Reference section. I wanted to check the spark plugs so as I was pulling off the plug wires, most of them came apart in pieces. They were Magnacores that some previous owner had installed. While I hadn't planned on replacing the wires, I also didn't care for the "hotrod" look of the Magnacores on such a refined car so I don't mind too much. Since I don't wan't to go to the Lotus dealer as I can only imagine how much they would want for a set of wires, can I just look them up under a '91 Isuzu Impulse RS? If so, I can get Bosch #09242 for $41, Bosch #09053 (Red wires) for $46 as well as other brands such as Autolite, Neihoff, Borgwarner etc for similar prices. I would prefer the Bosch red ones like these:

Magnacores are what were on the car now and they fell apart when I pulled them off the plugs.

Nitro-Matt arranged a group buy on some a little while ago--I think you can still order them yourself but I don't have the info on me -- search the forum about this or maybe someone with a memory will remember the details . . .

I ordered a set of Bosch red wires to fit an Impulse. Hope they fit the Elan.

not positive they will but I think likely -- I'm just trying to remember if I recall someone saying the impulse set did not fit ? ? ?

FWIW everyone has liked the Kingsbourne wires (available in many colors) and I recall not a single bad comment about their fitting or performance (yet).

...in that case you obviously didn't see my howls of concern when mine arced all over the place on fitting them!

Fortunately they settled down, and have since been behaving themselves.

Or at least they did until a couple of weeks ago when I had to check my timing. I couldn't find the timing mark on the pulley so I decided to pull #1 plug out and use a dowel down the plug-hole to find TDC. Upon (gently) pulling at the rubber cap, the lead completely seperated from the metal plug connector inside, and required about half an hour of surgery to rebuild it.
