If it`s not Coils it could be the Hall Effect Sensor inside the CAS which can be ordered from Lotus for around £20

Galsia.
CLICK ON THIS LINK
Click on the link to the parts list.
The Hall Effect Sensor is on page 11, about half way down the page and is listed for £20.
To order, you need to click on the link to the order form on the original link I gave you, print it out, fill it in, and fax it off!
Hope this helps, Paul

My guess would be if the coil fitted a turbo as well it wouldn't be listed as NA.
Clemo or Oliver may confirm.
Wishbones - cant help but some one will

Thought these coils were available from lotus, but you had to order the esprit ones, but they were the same. There was lot of talk about this on here somewhere, but can't find it ?

I don't know for sure, but that sounds far too cheap to me. Rears are several times that. Have a trawl through the Suspension section. There may be some useful info there.

Having bought a complete set (now just needing one TCA) during the past 12 months I can confirm that the listed pert is only 1 half of the upper wishbone.
To get the whole lot, ideally you need 4 upper bits, 2 lower bits (Track control arms) and a vertical bit!!!
Most parts are 'handed' but one of the upper wishbone bars are common to both sides.
Mostly, the bits at the top don't rust structurally, but might just need rubbing down and painting - it is just that i wanted to do the whole lot at the same time

If you can get it to do it at night, you could take a look at the coils, HT leads and plugs to see if you can see where it is breaking down.
Temporary (or regular maintneance on a Mini where the distributer is right behind the grille and there is no radiator in the way) solution is to spray WD40 but make sure you've run the engine and got it warm to drive out the moisture. Otherwise, you'll just trap it where you don't want it.

IIRC you can't see the bolts from above so doing it by feel and/or using a small telescopic mirror is the way to go. Move the header tank out of the way as much as poss. Can't recall whether I used a long reach socket or flexible ratchet spanner (think it was the socket). Take note of the wire to the baseplate and the important insulating washer (careful you don't drop it). Once out you can easily change the coils from the baseplate. You may find moisture in between the plate and the coils (could be your culprit).
Good luck

i remember this was discussed before
i remember the fuel injectors being part of the discussion for when the engine seems firing on 2, as the injectors are paired . . .
not sure if it is the problem, but it is just a thought in case you need to consider that circuit too.

Geoff will have that on the Wiki before you know...
If not I'll do it tomorrow...
(He's a slacker)
On another note, have you seperated the coils from the base plate to check for corrosion?
