If an old git like me can understand what he was saying then he's already mastered the art of effective communication, which is more can be said for most call centres I've had dealings with.... innit. Oh and welcome Neil. We are a largely an irreverent bunch on here so don't take anything too seriously.

Welcome aboard Neil, you will indeed find a lot of assistance here, perhaps make time to post up a seperate intro post showing the car in all it's glory so the guys feel more in tune with the beastie
Good luck with the Spark issue, wish I could add some technical advice but I'm fairly new myself and have had a fairly trouble free Elan thus far, that's the beauty of buying from a LECer

Of course, you're quite right but then again you are, indeed, one of the more senior old gits

At least I'm only semi-retired: Unlike the other two members of the Bristol branch of the senior old gits club.

2 things to mention, here:-
1) some would say you only ever really semi-worked, so no difference now.
2) It's not OUR fault that you chose to work in the Private(ish) sector for a large wage, and didn't have the moral fibre to serve your country for a small salary but reasonable pension scheme

Dave
Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Back on topic, have you tried changing the spark plugs for new ones yet M8 ? And also the plug leads might have seen better days if they are still on the originals

Harken to the old git from across the pond
Rambo, I know not what you mean, the tissues were with the Zimmer Frame, next to the mobility scooter.

Ah but I did have the moral fibre to work for the MoD from 17. It's not my fault they paid me a few shekels at university. It's not my fault they put a few coppers in the pension pot. It's not my fault politics got in the way of the work and forced me to look at private sector. It's not my fault the transferred pension pot has turned out to be so lucrative. It's not my fault I'm having to suffer this crap view out of the hotel window.

It's not my fault... I'm not a Scouser 'cause it's never their fault.
