The Kingsborne wires are available as either 7mm or 8mm (if my memory is working tonight) and they make a decent replacement wire set. They even offer RED wires if you want them. The LEC discount probably still exists if you ask them nicely.

Chris: Please post your findings once you get the wire set and let us know how you got along with fitting them.

Installed new plugs and the 9.5mm leads today. First, a huge difference in performance from before -- not necessarily due to different quality of leads/plugs, but maybe just because they're all new. The old plugs looked good, in that there was no evidence of performance problems fouling any of them, but the contacts were very worn down. Much more power and smoothness now.

As for fitting the leads, they went in just fine, for the most part. There's no problem fitting them into the little tree in the opening between the two sides of the cam cover. Fitting them into the little tree that hangs below the oil separator is a bit tougher. They will squeeze in, but it's not easy, and it does scuff the outer cover of the leads a bit doing it.

I would probably go with the 8mm leads next time, but they are correct for the car and they seem to be a good quality in their manufacture, so Robbie the Robot is a good source in my opinion -- for what that's worth.
