Replacement of Broken Magnecor Leads

On removal from its plug, one of my Magnecor leads came apart - as it seems has been the case for a few others on this site.<br><br>After getting a direct number from Steve at SJ Sportscars, I phoned Phil at Magnecor who seemed only too willing to replace the broken lead on condition that he inspect it first. <br><br>He said their people had looked into the problem given that it does happen from time to time, and can only put it down to a metalic reaction between some plugs and leads, rather than a failure of the lead construction - well I suppose they would, wouldn't they?<br><br>Phil: 08704448646<br><br>Magnecor Europe Ltd<br>Unit 12<br>Jubilee Business Park<br>Snarestone Road<br>Appleby Magna<br>Derbyshire<br>DE12 7AJ<br><br>So, despite an overwhelming response to my previous posting on the subject, I shall no longer need advice as to what alternatives to look at. Guess you had better luck than I did here in the US. I sent my leads back to be "inspected" after being near assured on the phone it wasn't Magnecor's fault, despite 3 of 4 coming apart on removal. Never heard back and further attempts to get my leads back or a refund were met with silence. If you do feel the need to buy these leads, try to open the metal collar that clamps the top of the plug just slightly. This grips way too tight and results in the whole thing getting yanked apart trying to get it off the plug. Otherwise, find a equally good set somewhere else.

I paid these folks a visit to pick mine up, and I was impressed with their people as well as their product. They said they sell a lot of these leads through RTR performance.

Not sure if they have changed the design of the leads but I have never had the "sticking" problem so many have commented on. My leads "pop" on and "pop" off with no problem even when the motor it hot.

i have just had the same problm with my magnecor leads, well number 2 lead to be exact, i sent magnecor a email, the following day they have called me, i spoke to Phil who explained as per Andy`s post, if i send the lead to him he will endeavour to fix or replace it. sounds like good service to me. i will post an update when i hear anything from them.

forgot to update this, i sent my magnecor lead back to phil, who said they would look at & either repair or replace, i recieved after approx 3 weeks a new lead, i know its new as the lead is slightly longer than previous lead.

customer service 2nd to none.

well done magnecor.
