Draining the fuel tank

Hi All,
Today I have mostly been draining the petrol tank!
Right, so most of the fuel is out & the tank is pretty clean, Is there something I can stuff in the tank to soak up the last half litre of petrol? Once that's out I can clean out what little crud there is.

Seriously, petrol is dangerous.

You can use a rag to sponge up the last bit but wear protection gloves and wring out the rag each time you dip it into the tank.

Use a petrol safe basin to catch the petrol and then dispose of the petrol safely.

When finished, make sure the rag is as dry as possible and then hang it someplace outdoors (far from anything that could burn) to let the last bit of petrol evaporate.

A regular auto shop would have a petrol safe air powered vacuum pump to empty the tank.
