In amongst all the grief the damned car has caused me, is the immobiliser fault.
The key fob pad has never worked. The immobiliser is deactivated by a small rocker switch operated in a sequence. I had disconnected the battery to reset the ECU having just swapped injectors and changed to closed loop but now the immobiliser sequence doesn't work. I am unable to turn the engine over at all.
Has anyone got any clues about how to remove this device. Everywhere ive looked seems to consider it top secret. I can understand why but I do which I could take it off and through it in the bin.

I've removed a few Cliffords over the years, it's not overly difficult just time consuming, the basics are tracing where each wire is intercepting the original loom, cutting out the Clifford wire and re-joining the two original wires back together. The main wiring that disables starting by the ignition switch is a good a place to start as any, disconnect the battery first!.

Thanks.
I've found a drawing of a later Clifford so I'm going to give it a go. Got nothing to lose really.

Hi, I’m new on this forum and have just acquired an SE H reg in silver.
It has been in a garage for 19 years, old owner only gave me keys and what looks like an alarm fob. How hard is the complete removal of the immobiliser?
The car will be garaged every night and I hate the thought of electrical gremlins.
Thanks
