looking for info on timing for my n/a. Have seen the forum write up but there's no mention of the n/a model. I' assuming that the procedure is different to the se model. Have also had a problem with idle speed engine tickover sometimes drops and then stalls, only happens occasionally any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
The ignition timing setting for the NA is 16 degrees BTDC.
This should be checked at normal operating temperature with the engine running in field service mode (short out pins A and B on the ALDL connector behind the glovebox)
The distributor clamp bolt should be tightened to 24 Nm (17 lbf.ft)
My idle speed occasionally flutters about. I replaced the IAC valve with no improvement. Is this problem a characteristic of this engine ?

thanks guys, had it checked over today, turns out the rubber strap holding the expansion tank is naff allowing the tank to drop onto the coil which is directly below it. 
Over time it has rubbed away at the connection resulting in an intermittent contact. The connector has very nearly burned away.Tried sourcing a new coil.. usual places nobody has one it seems. Temp repair underway until new coil is fitted.... anybody have one? this would probably explain why the engine tickover was unsteady. timing was spot on as was tps. hope this helps

they are also a single point coil made by blueprint for the dawoo essparoe.

also i fear (the worst case ) to bear in mind (is that the right bear?)
my ecu and coil went at the same time so if it continues then an "NA" meet and ecu swap may help.
as i say if the problem continues ..
