Bulk order for car mats

Postby chris.t » Thu 12.01.2006, 12:57

After trying to get some original car mats I have decided to get some made up to my spec.

Is there anyone else that would be interested in getting some mats for their Elan.

Just want an idea of numbers at the mo.

Some details following my tentative opening enquiries.

Most colours available.
Medium pile and thick premium pile available (priced accordingly)
mat or steel heal plates in various styles (priced accordingly)
Motif or lettering incorporated eg LEC logo or 'Lotus Elan' etc

Mats designed for the Elan but not sure if fixing holes can be incorporated (will discuss further with manufacturer if enough interest shown).

Prices range from 50GBP - 70GBP but there will be bulk discount depending on numbers.

Cost of shipping to various parts of the planet will of course be extra.

I shall be getting some anyway but as there has been some discussion thought i would find out if there was any other interest.

To get a better idea look HERE. This is the company i have approached so far. If anyone knows of a better company/deal please let me know.

Cheers Chris

I would be interested, not sure on colour yet, most likely black, premium pile.

Given the built-in swimming pools, sorry, footwells would the steel heel plate become slippery?

If not, I would be less inclined to get them.

Top price I would pay, assuming all of the requirements (e.g. fixing holes) are met is £50, might be flexible enough to add postage on top.

Any more than that would be taking the p*ss as they advertise fitted mats for the Elan for £30.

Lotus bespoke fitted mats are £60, so the price sounds about right, although ive just had some done, so won't be interested myself.

Thanks Neil, B&C are not that far from me but I normally discount them cos they're normally 2 expensive.

Just like to point out that there is a design service on the website. If you just go for the premium mats, no logo, no heel pad they come to around £26 (which incidently look just like the ones from B&C except without the clip holes).

Just thought you might be interested in this. I'm getting some mats made for me. the company that i have gone to have been really good, sending me a sample and swatches of all the different colours and materials used in the product. they have even provided templates for driver and passenger side so that i can check that the mats will be a good fit.

Anyway thought i would post a piccy of the sample to give you some idea. i am still not sure of the colour combination - thought about yellow cat on black to match the car but i quite like the sample they've provided. what do you think. By the way they will be charging £65.

Image Perhaps its only the picture but it seems to me, that the Lotus-claim could be more like the original, and the cat is also not the right one?

At last I would think, it would be better, when the claim have the same middleposition or they are lengthend equal.

Only my 2C

But please, keep going 8)

Did anyone end up getting the beige ones? would be interested to see them in the car thats all. Think they would suit my cream seats and hopefully a set of white dials ...
