cabin covers available?

Postby bratboy_y2k » Fri 06.06.2008, 06:08

I have no idea what they are called but I've seen interior cabin covers on old mg's and the like where the passenger side is covered while the driver side can be zipped open and shut. I don't know what they are called but wan to know if they are available for the Elan since it would be so nice to be able to drive with the top down and have everything covered while parked. any ieas?

This side of the pond they're called tonneau (sp) covers.
Problem lies with the curvature of the Elan and the obvious lack of fixment areas.

But you can get shower capes. Use the fantastic search capabilities here for "shower cape" and you should see a bunch of stuff.

Just to clarify. This is the sort of thing you mean:

whilst I like the idea......
I reckon youd be able to hook the rear end of the cover over the rear edge of the hood deck...its then just a case of where do you put the fasteners down the doors and across the dash.....
probably one as near to the rear opf the door apperture.....
one just under/next to the wing mirror.....
then its a case of do you follow the profile of the windscreen round???

you could do it in one piece in plan...but with a hole cut out for the seats and the binacle/steering wheel......these cut outs would then need a shaped insert to cope with the relevant obstical.......

all sounds very do..able :-D
