Plastex

Has anyone used Plastex...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Plastic-Repair-Pl ... 240%3A1318

Long story short...

The N/A Glove box has no mounting lugs...(snapped off during the life of the car)

So I thought I'd make some more, (I've got the other car to take the moulds)

I want the overall effect to look OEM.....the reason the glove box is slightly different to any other I've seen..(nearly everything is on this car)

plastex looks like the stuff i used to fix my bike plastics, its a good material, can be sanded, drilled, tapped, it comes with material you can use to make mould out of,
its only fault is its a little brittle

I was about to post howto fix small plastic interior trims then found that you already have one listed here.

I got my Plastex from -- HERE --.

They come in BLACK, CLEAR, WHITE, and other colours. The manufacturer mentions that Plastex kit in black is stronger than other colors. I used it to fix my turn signal but will soon fix some other cracks in my interior pieces too.

I started from enlarging the cracks by sanding them, using the smaller plastic tips to pour the plastic powder over the crack, then squirted the activator chemical over the powder. Pretty easy. There is also an instructional CD with movie clips to show you howto. The kit comes with small molding material that you could heat it up and mold small plastic parts.
