Sticking Seatbelt Latch - Drivers Side

Postby Symfona » Mon 21.11.2005, 19:25

My driver's side seatbelt latch is sticking and I have to use my car key to get it raised so it latches properly. Any ideas or replacement options? SJ does not carry - used parts?

Did you try to take it off and clean it out with some WD-40?

Give it a try

I did spray it with Silicone but it did not help. I called the local Lotus Dealer who informed me the rights to the seatbelt patent had been purchased from Lotus and he gave me the number to order the entire assembly for around $165.00. All I need is the latch and would rather get a used one for about 25% of the new price. I may take off this weekend and give it a look.

:agree:

Mark A replaced his belt latch with a new stock from an Infiniti I30 (95% sure it was that) -- so check your local Nissan dealer and they will likely have something to fit. Mark said it is nearly identical, but it is not the same completely (meaning scrutiny can tell the difference but not with a quick glance). You get the idea . . . .
