Sourcing automative Velour

Postby Nohair » Wed 07.01.2009, 09:15

I'm having the seats, doorcards, gaiter and handbrake sleave retrimed at moment, and whilst the interior is away ive been cleaning the interior carpet. This is a yellowy - gold colour which i'm sure wasnt standard and definiately isnt as old as the car. Oddly the floor carpet has cleaned up great, but the door card carpet has had it.

Has anyone here got recommendations where i can source some carpet and redo the doorcars myself. Job looks simple enough, if i could only source the right colour?

NH

The yellow (along with red) was offered as an option (as opposed to grey), although I retrofitted mine which was initially red.
Look at the banner picture herefor a picture of my carpet.

Yes

And Bromsgrove Autotrim (who are really well priced) have a template, I think.

Best source I know for all automotive trim is http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/ I doubt you will be able to get an exact match to the original carpet and so using different material altogether is probably a good option. But the site is worth a look at.

I got some red from Woolies for the door cards and rear panel (behind the seats) which was such a close match that it is difficult to notice (well, no-one has commented on it, anyway) - they do a wide range of colours, so may have something close enough - if not, either a leather insert, or how would a dark grey or black piece of carpet look?
