Thoughts with Nitron suspension please

Yes, they are adjustable.
You can see the rear adjusters. In Sandra's second pic, it is the little blue knob at the end of the thread. When you pull your boot (trunk) carpet back, you get easy access to this.
I believe Nitron modified their front adjusters after fitting mine. Mine are easy enough to get to with a bent wire though. I just remove the centre blanking grommet on the top of the suspension strut & stick my adjuster in the horizontal adjustment slot then turn it.
Both front & rears give a nice positive click for each adjustment increment.

Are all the dampers 24 click adjustments? Is the selectable range underdamped to critically damped or is it possible to have an overdamped system with this setup?

Keeping in mind the damping ratio is a function of mass, spring constant, and dampening coefficient we would see the system as overdamped more easily in lighter cars with softer springs



Which brings me to my next question, what spring constants is Nitron offering for the kit? I'd call up Nitron but they're on holiday until Jan-2....

Yes 24 clicks. I know for Elises Nitron will do custom valving, so if you know what you want I suggest you'll have to talk to them. Bob is probably the only other person likely to be able to help and I'm not sure how much he's around on here these days.

I will be investing in a set of Nitrons very soon, but I wondered if anyone could offer their thoughts on spring rates (again). My main concern is picking a rate that prevents the front end bumper hitting the tarmac under compression, say after going over a humpback bridge. It maybe that the OEM 23 year old setup I currently have has sagged, but I did replace the front springs six or seven years ago. Will Nitron's standard road setup prevent this?

When Nitron set the ride height for mine, they used my OEM setup as a template, but this was a bit low & speed humps were a problem.
I have since referred to the manual & found the ride height was lower than it should have been, so I have corrected it.
Speed bumps are no longer a problem & I have to negotiate a few to get off my estate. I'm not quite as quick over them as something like a Range Rover though

Yes. Mine was the prototype & they wanted an owner who wanted a standard replacement setup.

Nitrons are single tube nitrogen-filled dampers. I am not sure how this affects their performance?
Eibach springs are made to a tighter tolerance than most. The default Nitron kit comes with Nitron springs.

One major advantage with a single tube design is that the damping adjustment is on top. This makes it easy to get at & keeps it away from any muck thrown up from the road/track.

I was looking to get the introns as they seem to be really good quality and there was a lot of development work that went into them, also the adjustment being on the top and having lots of spring choices
