Advice for changing shock absorbers and springs

Postby Pierre_Dx » Thu 18.09.2025, 19:18

Hello,
For your information, I am fairly new to mechanics and am trying to learn little by little.

I would like to change my shock absorbers and also the original springs. Mine are not in very good condition :)

Do you have any advice for this change and/or any references?

I drive normally and am not looking to turn my car into a super sports car. I've already noticed these shock absorbers (https://www.pafclassic.com/products/amo ... 5885546570).
Do they seem like a good fit?

PS: I'm in the south of France :)

I just installed these and it was very easy. If you plan on reusing your old springs, you need spring compressors. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6ACKKO_wjJs

Hi Pierre_Dx. Yes, springs and dampers are normally sold seperately and you'll certainly need a spring compressor to assemble them.

You'll probably buy adjustable dampers which will have 'click-stop' adjusters. The seller should tell you how to set them up and/or you'll also get loadsa advice from this forum :)

Bon chance...
