HiSpec Brake Rotor Patterns

I am going to replace my HiSpec front rotors which have the standard pattern of curved grooves sweeping from the centre of the rotor out to the edge. HiSpec offer a range of patterns on replacement rotors - is there any reason or advantage to getting anything other than the standard rotor for a car that is not tracked?

The usual grooves, holes and dimples all help prevent dust or gas building up under the pad but the various designs are more a fashion statement than anything else... but some slotted designs can be produce some noise which can be heard when the hood is down ..

Agreed. Maybe a bit better heat dissipation too ?? They look nicer too so added poseur value
