Inferior Quality Handbrake Cables

Just a quick note to everyone looking to replace handbrake cables that there seems be a large variation in quality across some suppliers and I would strongly suggest that you check the following before you purchase:

- Is the cable supplied with the large cylindrical buffer to prevent the cable outer chafing on the Chassis ?
- Is the cable supplied with chassis grommets ?
- Is the cable supplied with the suspension arm protection sleeve to prevent the cable outer chafing on the upper suspension arm ?
- Is the cable supplied with waterproof rubber grommet/sleeve at the rear caliper arm to prevent water ingress into the cable ?
- Is the cable supplied with washers between the adjuster nuts ?

If the answer is no to any of the above then I suggest that you take your business elsewhere to a more reputable supplier (of which there are at least 3 alternative reputable suppliers south of Ellesmere Port) who doesn't try to fob you off and tell you that none of the above matters and then doesn't pay for return postage because their website picture is clearly mis-selling the product and then you have to chase for a refund !

We are always happy to hear of suppliers who give excellent service as it helps everyone -but it is equally important to know who provides a poor service....

..... I don't mean someone who sends the wrong thing by mistake, but then changes it without issues -these things happen.

It is the "customer service" part that helps us all.

Something where an advertised item is NOT what is sent, and is not suitable for purpose my AND the supplier gets difficult is never good.
