Front Grille upgrade

Postby Hector2021 » Tue 02.05.2023, 16:39

I was actually browsing through the forum searching for details to help with replacing the broken slider bosses on my drivers door window, which has already proven invaluable for a couple of 'get arounds' to avoid a repeated failure of the top most front boss.... Anyway i digress. In my search i came across the following, which is something i have already wondered about doing to improve the current rusty nets already fitted:

I've changed the chicken wire for something a bit more racy 8)

The thread went on to credit Jamie N with being the provider of the new mesh panels. So, to Jamie, Are these still available :?: :)

you can always email jamie directly.

HOWEVER

i have done the same on my Yellow one. but all i did was buy a ready made mesh from halfords for 13 quid (although the price on the shelf was 30 crhome and 40 black) and just cut them to size and used PU adhesive to keep it in place.

doesnt look as good as that picture. but should be a suitable alternative if you cant get that one.

I went for a mix n match approach on my front bumper vents - stainless mesh grill for the side vents and one of Jamies hex style kit for the centre vent.

Way better than the rusty chicken wire that was fitted before! :)

I do have a couple of sets of these actually, I did a few versions, some with pinstripes around the edge corresponding to the colour of the car, and also a rear one as well.
