Dave's shortshift

What is to heavy... No one can tell for you. You don't need to swallow stereoids to shift, but obviously it's heavier than before.

See if you can testdrive in one of our LEC cars with one fitted (you're welcome to drive mine). If not possible:
Buy one from Dave and try it out. If you don't like it, restore the bit's you removed and you're back to stock configuration again. Don't worry about the money, you can sell it easily on LEC again.

I would take the risk if i were you!
(but check if your cables are in good shape before doing anything...)

I don't think that will be a problem for you. While the kit delivers shorter shifter throws its not so much heavier that you need to apply significantly greater force to change gears.

How heavy is the gear change with the short shift fitted? We intend to fit a round gear knob which will reduce the lever about 1.5". Which we presume
will make the shift a little shorter and more precise also heavier. Max is only small very determined but still at the end of the day if the shift is to heavy
we feel this might take away from the shifts advantages. Will the short shift and lever reduction make the throw to heavy?

Can someone please post Dave's Manual?
I'm in progress of placing 3 of Dave's buggers, but i have one question that the manual should answer (where does the 3rd ring go)?

I've inherited a Dave kit, and I'm in the process of fitting it, sans instructions. I don't understand what the thin plate with the 8mm and 2mm hole is for. If any one could mail me the instructions or the template of where to drill it would be gratefully received

Finally fitted the short shift, what a difference!! For me, it is not heavy and feels precise. How it should have been from factory. Can't recommend it enough. Big thanks to Dave for a great piece of kit

Yep, agree with that, got mine fitted last week, 260 mile shake down test before germany next weekend, feel 10 times better. feels like my stick bushes have gone, so will be replacing them in the near future to enhance it even more.
