Having used shift lights in a racecar before, I assume you want the red shift light to come on more like 6800. Not at redline.

The cheapskate version with one LED will be set just below 7000 and will have a slight adjustment of ~500RPM as you suggest. The 10 LED display that Nige wants will ramp up from 3000RPM (when the turbo kicks in) up to 7000RPM.

Depends what they are for I suppose but on track typically you would only really want 5 LEDs from say 5800 - 6800. Goal being to avoid hitting the rev limiter without having to look at the dash or change outside the ideal part of the power curve.

Phil, would it help if I sent you a wired up LED so you can fix it in? I could put a plug on the other end so you would just have to plug it into the box of tricks when it arrives.

I have overcome the major problem (I think) and will be bringing the prototypes to Castle Combe tomorrow.

MMM sounds interesting,
I have liked the idea of these, every since I drove a Honda CRX in the US in oh 1993 whch had one. Just a gimmic for me as I wont be tracking anytime soon (if Ever

)
HOW easy are they to fit and how many pennys are they?
