Superchip - What for?

Not sure if this is the right place for this question but..

What does Superchip do to our car exactly?

Does it change the control of ignition timing, fuel mapping, etc?

In two words "Bugger all". I think one byte is changed and all it does is defeats the overboost fuel-cutoff safety feature when an MBC or similar is fitted.

I have normal piggyback chip which Alan custom made for me with safer fuel cut point which should bypass the superchip program on my MEMCAL. Strange that last time I look, it shows internal pinging inside, sparkplugs show the car running very lean.

Elan scan shows that it didn't retard the ignition timing at some point when the car was already on boost. (thinking that still run N/A at around 5 psi)

I plan to get the car dyno soon with 100 octane fuel. Then I might need another help from Alan to magically create another curve for the setup I currently have now.
