PlastiDip rubber hoses

I am thinking of trying to plastidip the outside of the large air hoses under the bonnet i will be buying the Samco hoses on the group buy and want to colour the larger hoses to, has anyone done this if so did it work, plastidip is supposed stay flexible up to +93 C so how hot will it get under the bonnet anyone Know ?.

It is still on my wheels, but i highly doubt that it will stick on any of the hoses for longer than a year... Just try it, it can't harm anything and let us know!

I’d give the car a good run to get up to temperature, and then borrow a laser thermometer to measure the temp of a few selected points under the bonnet. That will give you a better idea of temps (I have such a thermometer if you can wait till CC)

However, that the likely problem will be not temperature, but stickability

Why would you want to measure the temperature of a laser instead of the hoses?
The laser is there as an aid to aim the FLIR spot sensor.
Max. emperature will not be the limit, but ' stickyness' due to the flexible basis combined with heat cycles would be my guess, but just try it!

You could always put it on the inside… isn't that what Samco once did?

Yeah, but you would need close to 47 layers for that effect
