have a choice of a number wheel places to do the work.
what proces is best paint or powder coat.
and am thinking a mid / dark grey as a color choice or black anyone gone down this route my cars red ..

I got my daily's wheels refurbed in Anthracite. They look ok but I've not fitted them yet & the car is light grey.
I did think about black but.....I felt that brake dust shows up on black more than on grey.

I had mine (non standard) done in anthracite which looks good with Pacific Blue and probably with Calypso Red as well.

My wheels were chromed (said Global Performance on them) and the chrome was failing.
I would have been fine with painted or powder coated- but nobody would strip them that I could find.

So I had them re-chromed.
They look fantastic, but cost way more than I wanted to spend.

i think i pref the primer 3x layers of paint and laquer option to powder coat anyone wish to disagree ?

I've never been a lover of powder coating, if it get any damage water can get under it an it can lift of in large sections that said it is all the preparation and in a lot of case there is very little if any so I tend to treat with caution. On top of that what do you do if you get a small area of damage, get it all done again????????
Paint would be my prefered route and a good aluminium etch primer should ensure a good bond paint to alloy.

(Had to take it out and see if my 'fix' worked or not).





They had a bit of black where the 'LOTUS' lettering is and the little scallops. I left it all chrome.

Looks great black wheels look good on a red car, not sure about the blue brake callipers

I fitted my S2 alloys this weekend for the first time, I have even gone as far as converting my wheels from bolts to nuts and fitted tuner nuts so as not to scratch my newly painted wheels , the tuner nut has a key that fits inside the wheel nut therefore minimising contact with the wheel

yep but i paid throu the nose for em and i can always blow them over with satin black if needed.
i like the gloss black yep the tryers need a wipe not a fan of shiney tires tho .
i cant be a total rip off of another car dont want to be a monty mk2
