Refurbish BBS original alloys

Postby Nippy » Tue 17.07.2012, 08:28

Refurbishment time. Has anyone used the Wheel Specialist (they have quite a few branches) to have their BBS alloys done? Just want to know what you think, good job, look great. The original quote to have them done was £336 but a few emails later I was offered a LMBO (stands for Last Minute Booking Offer) for £280 (20% off).
I am going to go ahead and have them done but if members come back at me and tell me I am mad, I could change my mind!!

I dont know any places up your way, but FWIW £336 does seem to be very expensive to me. I've used both Lepsons in Swindon and SWWC in Exeter (twice) which are among the more expensive places down here. Local mates have found places who do it for £40 a corner and they seem chuffed with the results. I was very pleased with both of the above places even at a higher price (have varied between £60 and £70 a wheel including repairs etc). It seems size has a bearing on price and I'm talking wide 20" wheels not the tiddlers on the Elan.

I had my BBS wheels done (6 in pairs) some years back via Wayne at Sinclaires and they charged me £58 + carriage (just looked it up!) a wheel then which was absolutely top wack at the time.

I had the wheels on my Mini through Kwik Fit £40 per wheel and was very surprised that the results were excellent, I am going to get the lotus done as soon as i have enough funds after Tax, Mot etc.

Hi, just letting everyone know I have had the BBS wheels done by the Wheel Specialist, Cardiff branch. Not only did my daughter and I enjoy a wonderful hot day in Cardiff, the wheels were done and they are absolutely BRILLIANT. (Powder type, oven baked and gleaming).
(I would show you a photo if I could ever get it to fit - and thanks Geoff I know you tried to help before but the re-sizing only drops part of the picture size, for me it is the Kb - is that right- that remains above 11 - oh well). But let me say again, wheels were done in a long day and are Stunning in their original silver, I thoroughly recomment the Wheel Specialist).
