S2 Wheels are they rare and worth good money?

As you mention: I hope you have good insurance cover.

Difficult one this for sure, it makes me wonder how quickfit go on if a tyre monkey fits a tyre incorrectly or to the wrong pressure etc.... and then somebody gets killed?
There is a massive increase in the probability of this happening than a wheel failure thats what keeps me asleep at night and not awake!

It is just some thing you need to be aware of, I try where ever possible to over enginneer that way something else will break first.
If an incident can be put down to failure of a part due to faulty workmanship or materials then the person or company that supplyed them can become liable. If a death occurs then you could be looking at corporate manslaughter and even the tyre fitting and manufacturing companies have that one to contend with amongst others.

On a more positive note, I paid ~£150 per S2 wheel new in the box with bolts valve and centre cap.
I would pay £80 for a good 2nd hand one (SE or S2) from someone I trust, should I need it.

The swap is a set already stripped and re powder coated (the whole wheel) in exchange to your manky kerbed scuffed whatever condition there are in to warrant you wanting to get them done.

It works out at £53.19+vat for the work per wheel.

We're more expensive at £58+vat per wheel.

We also offer an even better smoother finish, where we flat down the front powdered face and then paint on top a solvent paint (Lots of colours available) and then a thick 2 pack gloss lacquer. This service is £75+vat per wheel

There are plenty fo places that can and will powder coat wheels, some will shot blast them and beat them up!, some will use as we do chemical paint stripping, then some prep the surfaces before powdering like we do, and some not, they just fill the marks up with lots of powder application...etc..

Wheel restoration is the same as bodyshops................Some have a fantastic attention to detail and some don't.

We like to think we offer one of the best finishes and services in the country.


Sorry to be plugging, but I'm fanatical about cars and especially wheels, and I get wound up easily how may car lovers and / or enthuasists refuse to spend the correct amount of money on wheel painting, if they want a briliant job. To my mind it's the nature of the beast, a wheel is a wheel and people for some reason think they must be cheap to repaint ??

How many people on this forum would allow or even consider letting a guy in a van unbolt your bonnet and re-spray it inside his van !!!

I'm not saying many or any of you would ? but it's the same mentality that people would consider having their wheels done this way (Mobile quick fix) that's is wrong.

There are many sections of this forum on suspension, hardtops, brakes, turbo's etc....and the money spent on them is not an issue, wheels seems to be.

Why? ...........now that I've had my rant! I don't know why I'm ranting I've just taken an order for a £500 +vat paintjob on a set of Audi A8 W12 19" Wheels.

I am not qualified to give a long-distance transatlantic optometry test, but the ones in the sale are probably of little use to you.......

....they have (currently) 33 in stock of the 15" OZ (SE/NA) wheels at £44 + VAT (give or take a few pence) which gets them for £50 total (each!)

It depends which list you look at!

From the Group Lotus website, it takes you to an old list (don't know why!).

If you go to the 60th Aniversary website, it will take you to this list and you can see the wheels listed at £42.55 + VAT
