Michelins I think. I know it was Michelin MXX2's on the SE - not sure what model on the S2 but it will be listed in your specifications in the grey folder

Many of us could have told you that the OEM ones are no longer available. We just couldn't remember what they were.
This is probably because modern tyres give better performance.

Steve Williams told me it was time to change all 4 of mine - they are all very old and have little tread left. Based on this thread I'm planning to go for Toyos - can anyone recommend a place to source them from in the Berkshire area, and the price I'd expect to pay?

Buy them online from somewhere like Blackcircles or mytyres, have them delivered to you then fitted by a local tyre place. It cost me about £60 in total a corner 3 years ago to do this. This is often cheaper than asking your local shop to supply and fit. They should be happy to just fit and balance though.

There are other places online that do this: even found new ones on ebay for about £180 a set of 4 ebay link here with free delivery!

I have assumed you have an SE rather than the S2 which has 16" wheels.

If you are considering having your wheels refurbished at some point then I can thoroughly recommend The Wheel Specialists http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/company-profile/
They refurbished my wheels in one day and fitted new Toyos all round for the same price as I could get the Toyos from Black Circles. They didn't charge for fitting or balancing either as that charge is already built into the wheel refurbishment price. Not the best time of year to be shelling out more money but thought I'd mention it.

I have always run Goodyear eagle F1 's since my first elan many years ago . Whilst the construction or pattern has not changed over the years i am happy with the grip and quiet road noise.
