Tyre wear & wheel alignment

Monty, yes, I have done this before!
There are two per side so you would really need 16 to be sure. It gets quite expensive but remember you already have 4 fitted - I hope so you will be chucking money away.
If you do use a Lotus dealer make sure they have them in stock before they start! My local dealer didn't carry them all.
Whatever you do make sure to use new bolts / Kaylock nuts & copaslip (Not on the threads tho'!)

I have had Toyos on the fornt for the last year. I have had about 11k out of them. I suffered from some hefty wear on the inside that was obvious when I had the tracking checked by a local garage with the laser kit. The wear seemed to stop after this was sorted. And I ended up with fairly even wear across the whole tyre.

Have now fitted Yokohama A539 and so far they feel fantastic. Paid more than Monty though

Will just have to see what the wear rate is for these.

FWIW I would avoid Kwik Fit. Your always gambling on whether you get a guy who knows what he is doing or get the YTS kid who is having a bad day and wants to go home.... a local tyre supplier specialist should have the kit to do all this and I've found they are usually interested to do the job properly when you show up in the Elan, if if it does take 15 mins and a few planks to get the thing on to the ramp I paid about 50 quid last time I had it done

Tend to agree with Dan. Small independant is best. I've always had to keep a very close eye on them any time I've gone to Kwik Fit for tyre fittings to make sure they don't jack up on the wrong part of the chassis / body.

Had my alighnment done at a local tyre place and service etc was great. But If you get an opportunity, make sure you loosen all the appropraite bolts etc before taking it to them. I didn't with mine and it took nearly 2 hours rather than 45 mins. Meaning I had to foot the bill for the extra.

Thanks for the advice guys, if i do try Kwik fit i`ll be sticking to them like glue to make sure things are done correclty. But as longs as i have the camber plates and the instructions from the manual i can`t see it being much different to any other car + if it works out ok then at least others can use them.

BTW Wheel base are selling A539`s for £200 for a set of 4 on ebay and there only 10mins away from me.
