New tyres

Hello all

I've been lurking on the site for a fair amount of time and have (finally) acquired a 1992 SE. It's still on its original Michelins (because it was kept in specialist storage for its owner who lived in Hong Kong).

Given the tyres are so old, I am looking to change these as a priority.....having spent some time surfing the web for tyre prices and variously reading fellow owners' reviews I was wondering if:

1. ordering them from mytyres.co.uk, I should opt for the fitted price or just buy the tyres?

2. does anyone know of a good tyre fitting place which knows how to jack up the car and not stuff up the wheels in or around west London (Chiswick)

3. recommend some tyres and prices....I was considering potenza RE040 (£56), Falken ZE512, Toyo T1R (but not sure given the feedback). Main use for the car would be for dry weather driving around and about.

1. Get the all in price, unless you fancy hunting around, also check BlackCircles.com as I have found their all-in prices a little cheaper than MyTyres, also it's less confusing.

3. I have just put GSD3s on the front of mine, did have the T1-R's but they seemed to wear quickly.

Ailwyn,

Goodyear don't do the GSD3 (ie F1) in 205x50x15'' any more. You're OK with the S2's 16" wheels though with 45 profiles.
