Storing Tyres

Just bought a set of Team Dynamics 16in wheels + tyres & intend to fit these to my SE Turbo in the near future.

Question : what precautions should I take when storing the original Oz whels/tyres currently fitted?

Hi Gareth,
I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Storing them in the roof of your garage, or somewhere dark with god ventilation
would be the best place. Unless you have fitted bigger brakes and the 15" wont fit any more I would keep them for winter use to save your new wheels from the salt and muck. Maybe even fitting a couple of winter tyres to keep you on the valley roads. Regards

what advice would you give on storing Tyres and Tyres which are fitted to wheels? as garages seem to store theres standing upright and wonder is that the same for tyres on alloys, or is laying them flat and stacked one on top of the other ok

Most garages store them upright for two good resons; 1)you can read the lable and know what you are looking at and 2) when they are stacked flat the one you want will always be at the bottom

Either way is acceptable but reduce the pressure to take the tension out of the casing cords.

Rimstock the manufacturer of the Team Dynamic wheels supplied me with Monza wheels that wouldn't fit over standard calipers due to wrong (Lotus?) specification believed to be caused by a last minute caliper change from Opel to Vauxhall .
I had to take my car to the factory for them to take measurements to enable their data base to be updated. I managed to persuade them to replace them with Pro Race 2 and reduce the thickness of the wheel hub face to increase the offset to 53mm. They wouln't go any further for safety resons. Great wheel, wish I had opted for 17" instead of 16"
