I am looking for S2 wheels for my US Elan, I am willing to entertain buying them from the UK if the price is fair on the items since the shipping will be bd.
Feel free to email me off forum or post to this thread.
Just in case I am asking about multiple different wheels, the specific wheel I am talking about is similar in appearance to the 94 Esprit S4 wheel pictured on my old 93.5 here

Thanks.

I worked out something with Southwest Lotus Centre in the UK to buy a new set of S2 wheels from the UK now they are refusing to ship due to some kind of litigation rules between the US and the UK or something like that.
I am serious about wanting a set of S2 wheels if anyone has any. It seems to be a very difficult item to acquire - impossible in the US.

Perchance, how much were the wheels from Southwest? If you PM me what the issue is that Soutwest Lotus is telling you, perhaps I could help clarify - assuming you care.

They are saying they can't sell to anyone in the US it sounds like to me.
Dear Mr. Walling,
We have just received a telephone call from our insurance company stating that we are no longer allowed to have any items exported to the USA and Canada due to litigation. Therefore, unfortunately we are unable to supply the items you require for reasons beyond our control.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you - you could try contacting Lotus Cars through their website at www.lotuscars.com as their company insurance may allow them to export to the US. We have destroyed your payment details for security reasons.[/b]

Oh, and they were 591 GBP with center caps.
Not so great, but not as bad as the US parts houses that quoted the same items so far.
I will keep searching. I wish someone in the UK with a GOOD used set would be willing to sell me a set and box them up (very well) - I can have Fedex do a pickup and handle the shipping myself.

Well, that's a kick in the pants! Not cool. Perhaps someone on the other side of the pond would be willing to be a shill. You purchase, drop the wheels at their location, then they reroute the shipment to you.
Meanwhile, keep looking. I saw a set of S2 wheels on eBay not long ago. Also, contact WillB. He's a great guy with a lot of M100s and parts. Best of luck!

Yeah, it does suck.
I hope to find a set sometime soon, and I already asked WillB - he won't ship to the US either.
Someone that has a set that WILL ship to the US - contact me :) !! All you have to do is box them, and have them available for pickup - I'll send Fedex to get them.

Geez. Sorry to hear. I wonder why WillB won't/can't ship. You could also consider the Mini Cooper S wheels. The offset is +50mm which is close to our +60mm. The wheels look great, 4x100. Perhaps ship out an extra 10mm to compensate for the offset?

£591 seems a very good price, Paul Matty's price list has them at £175 each plus Vat, that's nearer £820 a set of the top of my head.
