Do you mean the actual electrical part? I can take some close-up pictures. The most common issue is a bad/leaking/filled float and it just clips in. The second most common cause is the wiper inside at the resistance winding and you just need to clean the contact and bend a bit to add more tension.

The float I found on eBay is a US company that does ship internationally. eBay # 380618548743. Here are a few more low price listings that have floats: 290834524038 Plastic that should fit, 130877013446 130876335537 Taxi senders with floats. I am sure there are others as well. I just happen to have MG spares in stock so I can confirm they fit. 271168042705 is a brass float that should fit but best to ask for dimensions.

Make sure it has the necessary groove at the end for the float wire to hold it.

I like the looks of 200916326925. Low cost and solid so it can't crack and fill up again.

I just took the lot out.

It's a shame that one needs to remove all trim between passenger compt. and hood stowage before the 4th screw in the plate that holds the assembly comes out.
Also the roof catch or latch or what's it called? needs to come off, so carpet prying is involved as well. Not a difficult task, but time consuming.

The pump looks fine, and the float has changed into a spare fuel tank as it is now for 80% filled with fuel.
I'll call around tomorrow if somebody has it in stock!

I just stumbled upon this thread and have a question:

Did any of you who experienced the fuel-logged floats notice a gradual tendency of the fuel gauge to read lower than full? This would be prior to it getting to the point where the weight of the arm and full-of-fuel float no longer was buoyant enough to lift itself off the bottom of the tank.

The fuel gauge system seems heavily damped anyway. This means that changes in the position of the float brought about by either gradual (fuel use) or transient level changes (like cornering) would tend to not be visibly indicated on the gauge. It creeps up and it creeps down.

Even so....was anything out of the ordinary noticed prior to it falling asleep?

The Spectra Premium SP1120 is a direct replacement complete with wiring. It is exactly the same size as the original pump and is a quick install. This is the pump for the 1992 Corvette which is where the pressure regulator comes from. I installed and did a pressure test which registered 64 psi when cranking vs. the spec of 55 psi.

just ordered the Spectra fuel pump on Amazon..now $38 USD and free shipping. Suspect a borderline fuel pressure issue when car gets heat soak from sitting after routine driving. Cheaper to replace the fuel pump than test fuel pressure!! Had very clogged fuel filter when i bought car and fuel tank was replaced, so worth a shot! Been chasing this issue for years....ugh.
