Tail lamp assembly

Postby ellwood » Tue 14.02.2006, 01:44

Talking to a Renault v6 GT-turbo owner the other day I understand that the Elan tailight assembly is the same as the Renault. On the site the site below these are listed as 161032 and 161033 at a price of Euro 172.84. Worth checking out as I think SJS list them at over 250 pounds.

There is a guy here in Nottingham who works for a local Renault Garage, he regularly sells them brand new on ebay for £125 or less. These are cheaper than the ones above if you include postage.

Ellwood,
Do you know what the difference is between the part numbers you have posted and the other part numbers on the fourth page of the parts list?

Was the A610 different to the GTA?

Anybody speak German? :?

Gary, talked to Renault about the very same. They only have one part number for the whole assembly for GTA.
Please be aware that the sockets that the bulb holders fit into are slightly different and will not accept the Lotus variant without modification.

just bought both complete rear lamps at this place, they fit perfectly, no modifications needed.
Received them in a few days.

In that case, does the Renault rear light include the wiring harness and bulbs?

Yes, it includes all the wiring harness, and exactly the same main connector and bulb holders.
But no, it does not include the bulbs

All I had to do is transfer the bulbs from the old lamp to the new housing and change the position of a bulb holder as brake and parking light are in different order than in the Elan (or something like that), but no big deal, it took me less than 10 minutes to change both lamps.

Good result there. Just out of interest, have you had the chance to compare the Elan rear lights bulb holders keyway to the Renault supplied item?
