Not easy to find are they?

I'm not certain but I think these may be them.

Answering my own question. I can now confirm that the K-nuts link I gave, as well as the Trident Racing nuts linked by F1 LOTUS, are in fact Kaylock nuts.

I'd be interested to know what you're doing with them as well John.

Well, if John is anything like me, then he is using them for his front suspension. For instance, the four bottom front damper bolts are specified by Lotus parts guide as using Kaylock nuts. There are other Kaylock nuts as well in the front suspension.

agreed, was just playing with those nuts in my Saab suspension installing new bushings and dampers last week . . . = common to auto suspension

Do you happen to know why Kaylock nuts are specified, as opposed to other locknuts? Such as Nyloc, which seem to be used everywhere else on the suspension !

Are kaylocks the ones in which the nuts are somewhat 'crushed' in order to put extra pressure on the bolt threaded through them?

Yes Bob, those are what I now know to be Kaylock nuts.

These are Kep Nuts, confused me for a while, as well, when I was looking for the kaylock.

I imagine they did it to try to match the quality of the bolt and nut together.

I thought those were Jet nuts but I see they're also known as K-nuts! I stand corrected on the Keps™ nuts but I see they're also known as K-nuts!!

They are probably known as jet nuts due to link with the aero space industry and I think it was the B52 that they managed to save 600lbs of weight using these, must have been a lot of nuts!
