Indeed the hairdressers choice -i'm getting the usual nonsense about lotus loads of trouble ............she has a long memory of the money ive tipped into my previous elan S4 and caterhams and TVR
Maybe owning an MX5 would be a good way of getting back in touch with my feminine side
But I keep telling her that M100 is a user freindly low maintainence lotus
Im working on it so its not over but once SWMBO decrees ,thats usually end of game

Forget everything you thought you knew about Lotus when it comes to the M100.

I bought a really cheap, high mileage one two years ago and it has been far more reliable than an ageing MX-5 would have been. And with less depreciation.

24,000 miles in 24 months.

In that time, the only show-stopping "you ain't going nowhere Charlie" was a dead starter motor.

Very little trouble, and what trouble there is is usually trivial.

Don't worry about buying one without uprated brakes, or replaced wishbones, just budget for doing them.

Just make sure you get one that drives and pulls properly.
