So it lives up to the "totally original" description if it's a Lotus chip. :-D
But what about the ABS and driver's airbag?
Also interesting to see that there is "no rust"! :smt044

Anybody on here know this car? It's had 7 previous owners!

Looks just what I'm after, is there anyone on here, local to Little Sutton, Cheshire, willing to do an initial viewing?

Yes, I know of this car, I remember the guy buying it and taking it out to Germany.
I'm trying desperately to remember who he bought it off.

Another NMY for you then Brigsy. Took you old car out the other day - still on at £6995 at my local garage.

Let me know if you bid on this one - may bid for it too, but silly to push the price up between ourselves.

Hi,

I am also interested in this NYM S2, as the time has come for me to up-grade from my SE.

Has anyone been to see this S2 yet, and does anyone know anything about the history of the car before it went to Germany?

Thanks

Proud owner of a '92 SE ( Red of course) ...

Hi Shaun, yes, another NM Elan would be nice. I do intend bidding on it but don't let that stop you, (I'm shagster111, for what it's worth and on a fairly limited budget). Hopefully one of us will give it a good home, it would be nice for someone on here to buy it.

Sy, not sure if that's a sarcastic reply or you genuinely don't know? The seller is a member of LEC and he bought it from Clemo, (so there's ** QUALITY**(EDIT CLEMO!) history already  (he'll edit that out as moderator  )

I saw my old SE was still on the Autotrader website at £6,999. That's at least £2K too much in the current market, IMHO. Not that it is a bad car, it isn't, but it is overpriced. I was wondering if it had been sold since I sold it to a trader in Norfolk, (don't know if it is the same one selling it now), or whether it has been gathering dust on his forecourt? It was definitely a car that needed regular use, sitting on my driveway did it no good really. Good news is that I sold it to fund a wedding, and more recently a house move and new house has a centrally heated garage crying out for an Elan!
Cheers,

I'd like to hear more about the seller of this S2, the following bit worries me:-

"THE V5 WILL BE FORWARDED TO MY FATHER-IN-LAWS ADDRESS ON THE WIRRAL, MERSEYSIDE, WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS AND I WILL FORWARD ONTO THE NEW OWNER"

Surely, without that piece of paper with your name on it, you don't legally own the car? Maybe I'm just a bit paranoid, the car looks and sounds good.

Briggsy, your car is still at the same garage (outside, not under cover) and has done only 14 miles since I looked at it nearly a year ago :-(

That's a real shame. :( I did think about buying it back, but I wouldn't pay more than the £5K I got for it, just about a year ago. In fact, if it's been sat on his forecourt all that time, I wouldn't even pay that much!

Shaun

I know Al (the seller) and I have been through the re-import of BFG (British Forces Germany registered) cars myself.
There's nothing to worry about here. He just needs a UK address at which to register it as he probably doesn't know the address of the quarter in which he will reside on his return to the UK.

NMY SOLD!

Postby ektrolleyboy » Fri 24.08.2007, 19:26

Well...The NMY on E-Bay has sld for 6.8K A couple of hundred squid under value, in my opinion. So not bad...
I bid 6.4K and would have gone to 6.5K but had a feeling it was going to top at 7K so pulled out. Coming from the trade I refuse to buy at value and would rather loose a deal than money! But it was a great car in my dream colour, so I'm somewhat sad.
Still got a couple of cars in-line however. But... Need re-think over tonight and decide whether to go for it or not...

Hi,

Yes I won the auction - sitting here with a big grin on my face! Trying to work out how to get there now to collect it.

Now the pacific blue se has to go!

By the way, it's 792

Where's the car, where's it going to?
I have a trailer and can shift it at cost if you need...(if it's not half way to the moon!).
