So my new place has had mice. Lots of 'em. And the Elan needs to call this place home. So, I just bought a Car Capsule: www.carcapsule.com - it's an inflated bag that you drive into and keeps the car .. hopefully .. pristine and mouse free. I haven't set it up yet SHOCKING I PROCRASTINATED ON SOMETHING but I'm optimistic!

I haven't set it up yet but I assume it's some sort of Star Trek transporter system.

I had an outside version for a while, you have a base that you park on then zip the top on then it inflates using a couple of PC fans that run 24 x 7 as it has a couple of vents to circulate the air.

You destroyed the magic and mystery of it all for me. I usually just let my butler and chauffeur handle these details.

When I first saw the cocoon concept I thought that a tank of nitrogen and a small regulator would do a nice job of keeping a car looking like new.

It went up quickly and easily. Park the car outside the garage for a few hours to cool it down. Roll out the bag, unzip the top and fold it forward. Drive on. Lay the top on the car and zip it up. Plug it in, in a few minutes you have your car (hopefully) mouseproofed.

I threw my power meter on it and it'll run me about $25 / year in electricity (166 kWh / yr)

Please keep us updated with your experience. I will be moving in the next 12-24 months and the new place has a carport, no garage. I was thinking of using one of these for Smaug. Also thought I could put furnace air filters or some such on the inlet to the fans, to keep out the dust and maybe filter some of the salt air (it's near the beach. yeah, I know, I have it rough.)

I'm hoping to find a cheaper replacement than what they want for it.

I've had it up and running about 5 weeks and love it so far. I've had to open it up a few times to get something out of the car and it's super quick and easy. I was worried it was going to be a hassle but thus far it's perfect. I'll keep you updated on my experience.
