Tilting lift or scissor lift

Postby jcfx11 » Mon 27.10.2025, 10:36

Hi,

New owner of M100 and need to do some work on it, cambelt, waterpump, headlights, fuel tank, thats the list so far. Because it's so low working on the garage floor is a bit of a stretch so I'm wondering about getting something to lift the car up.

Is anyone using a tilting lift with success or is a scissor lift a better bet, thanks for advice.

I have used both,

I prefer the scisor (well in fact 2 post is even better but not as practical) because with a tilt type you dont really get access to the middle of the car (not that much happens there except exhaust)

not much happens on the sills of the M100 so theres virtually no downside to getting a scisor lift.... althought you may regret buying one when your MX5 or MR2 or Celica or... anything british or italian needs to have new Sills welded.
