no no its not good, aparently you need thick dental floss, i think it would be easier to find some fishing line, id imagine braided would be best but watch your fingers and it will cut. It was a nightmare getting the sticky stuff off, which i suppose is what you want from the tape in the first place. i ended up using an ice scrapper combined with hot soapy water and a sponge(very carefully) which got the worst off, the most irritating part is its not quite straight, hard to tell but its going to bug the life out of me.
Thinking about making a plate holder for the front, placed very low and facing upward slightly.

(2nd update) I did a terrible job of fitting the last licence plate, and have since fitted a sticker type plate which looks very nice, but they are a bit of a legal grey area, plus there a bugger to get on rigth due to the contours of the front bumper. It may well turn out that im going to make something to attach to the bumper or somewhere on the front so you car just screw on a standard number plate.
