we didn't use them the other year but some people use them, I don't think its a bad idea myself especially if you're trying to break the 10 minute barrier. Really depends on what you're going there for

just going for a road trip and a drive round the ring im not after setting the world alight.

my mates taking his mk4goof gti. he tells me its got 450bhp wooo
and yesterday as i was keepng up with his straight line speeds and pushing him around the corners . he suddenly stoped braging strange that. :-D

Just keep it on the tarmac and watch out for lunatics - mainly bikers who think they're immortal. Tell your golfing mate that the cost of recovery, armco repair and a hire-car home will be enormous!

Basically, on a 'normal' track you can see what you're getting in to, and there's usually a margin for error (except at Lydden

) so you begin to commit; the 'ring is all blind brows and blind corners and you won't have time to learn it. You keep thinking 'They raced F1 and WSCC round this?????? :shock:

Presumably you've watched all the available internet video?

I think the sticker Dico is referring to is the Ring sticker which is an outline of the track :-D

but you do need a GB sticker as well and you need to have all the car's paperwork as well - V5/Mot/Ins etc

I am a member of another forum Nortloop www.northloop.co.uk which has a wealth of info and advice on going to the Ring - it has an introductory video on there and in one thread a guide to the track which is worth reading

I did the Ring, bought the sticker and didn't fit it to my Elan.
Murph didn't do the Ring, bought the sticker and fitted it to his Elan.

Oh, and aledgedly Stefs been hammered around the ring a few times. Not sure she has a sticker though.

you mean our ring, the green hell? If so, there must be no helmit. The gb-thingie should have be at the first mile in D. It is not special only according to the ring. But like it have been said before, if you licenseplate is made with the little gb-marks in the europeanstyle, no cops will notice anything more.

Good drive and show them the performance of an elan

Don't even think about it. Take a helmet.

The Ring is dangerous with a capital D. Anyone that says other wise is wrong! I was there on a closed day (IE not public) and without even pushing it had enough hairy moments to realise I would never go back on public day.

There are off-camber corners, coupled with the fact that the oil, dirt, tree sap can turn the surface into an ice rink with just a touch of drizzle.

I'm glad I've done it, but I'm in no hurry to go back.

Anyone who values their life will wear a helmet on the ring. You may be going for a jolly and a drive - others aren't and that is were the accidents start.
