Thanks Specky, I'm pretty sure I'll look back on your statement and agree. I recently purchased the SIlver Elan listed in San Francisco. It's a little rough, but I bought it right and look forward to restoring it. This is my 5th Lotus, the first four all S2 Europa's. Had them all when I lived in Montana - freaked people out to see this tiny, weird looking car blasting around in the snow. I was one of a very few F1 fans in Billings, MT - specifically a Colin Chapman fan. Started driving a go-cart my Dad bought me at 6 yrs old. Learned to wrench at my Dad's side on his 1935 Packard Super Eight Convertible. Learned to autocross in a hot VW, built a seriously fast '64 Corvair for hill climbs and solo II events, got my ass handed to me by a guy in this cool little car I had never seen before. When he beat me again - I set out a search to find myself a Lotus Europa. Found a Silver/Black one at Hollywood Sports Cars and that brings me (with dozens of other cars in between) to the present. Married, 55yrs old, living in Portland, OR, Apple Computer Specialist for 31 years.
