Another New LEC member

Postby LO 2 US » Mon 14.01.2013, 15:47

Hello, Just "signing in".... totally new to the Elan M100 / S2 ...
Bought an S2 in late 2012 Finding my way around / it had been "stored" a lot :asleep: in West Sussex
When I have time will embark on a few tweaks, starting hopefully with: Battery / cambelt & Aux / s/s 2.5" sportcat exhaust / some mild brakes and a general service
Good to see the "active and info filled" LEC!!

 It is very welcome though.

Updating your profile with your location is useful. It then appears below every post, which is handy when you need that spare part which you can't buy from your local dealer.

& enjoy the car!

Hi LO 2 US and welcome, yes this is a really good site, don't be surprised about the swift replies, all are more than helpful, there is such a wealth of knowledge here which has certainly helped me out many times this past 6 months. As for looking forward to what your Elan will do, I was the same with mine and although I have probably spent over the odds to restore her, she is gorgeous, I have never driven a car that handles like the Elan, so money well spent in my opinion, I am sure you will feel the same when yours is up and running. Let's just hope for a good long summer! :D

Hello!

You'll no doubt make some long term friends here as people don't tend to part with their Elan easily!

Hope to see you at the Lotus Festival in July and other meets!

Enjoy and don't feel afraid to ask anything, even if you think it maybe dumb :-)

Thanks everyone for your feedback... just to drop a few bitz back:

:agree: I used to drop into the North Kent Lotus gathering when I could (back then @ the Lamb pub Sundridge) back in circa 98 ... and everyone was very friendly ... (despite my turning up with a non-Lotus)

:agree: I also used to go to the Donington Lotus Show... and normally (nowadays) do Silverstone classic, Goodwood Revival...... (anything else I can get to) and an odd trip to Shuttleworth

Thanks for the IOW and Worthing responses.. good to know that there are others around, good to see Steph links with the TVR's)

:agree: The Hen & Chicken looks good.... although it will be difficult weekdays..... if they have: Hobgoblin, Betty Stoggs, Doombar, Palmers 200 ..... may need to B & B there

 Am I going to be likely to get through Mot emissions easily (with a very low miles engine and post 1st Aug regd S2) with the initial tweaks of: 2.25" piper (sportcat'd) exhaust, (??Piper 2.25" PCE??) and just the drop in K & N air Filter? ... and initially maybe without opening up the wastegate. Any views/opinions/experiences appreciated?

I have just tried to add a  pic ... it appears "file size too big.." ..maybe it'll post anyway
