Rear light adhesive

Postby Lover » Thu 23.01.2020, 20:12

Hello,
I am new to this site so please bear with me, I have a early M100 of which i'm in the process of getting ready for summer,
Appears its had a poor body repair to rear bumper , overspray on underside of rear light covers etc
My rear lights are in abit of a state ns worse than os , knowing how difficult they are to obtain i decided to remove and see if any repairs can be done, Now removed ,outer cover a full investigation revealed 2 sheared of studs (just glued in situ), reflector loose in outer cover again poorly glued , 3 cracks viable in outer cover ,And the lenses also poorly glued to the main housing,
Can any one reccomend a good adhesive to rebond the reflector to the housing (water tight )?
and is the a reccomended adhesive to re attach the lenses ?
Lastly where the sheared stud was positioned on light cluster the is a hole ,Has any one else experience of these repairs .?
Also are the studs available ?
Many thanks in anticipation

Roger
Hello and welcome to LEC.
Thought someone would have replied by now. RE regluing of studs etc., I'll leave the answer up to others (perhaps Sikaflex) who may have encountered the same problem.
Regarding your rear light cover problem (reflector loose and cracks in the cover(s) and lenses loose or damaged, I launched a Group Buy (M100 Rear Light Covers - Remanufacture) 7/8 months ago. We're awaiting production subject to approval of a pre-production pair and if all goes well I'll be launching a 2nd Group Buy (all info is given in the various threads) around May 2020 if there are sufficient numbers.
The reflector is included in the new rear light cover. Otherwise all lenses are also available separately.
Let me know if this is of interest to you and I'll keep you in mind for our next Group Buy.

Hello David ,
Thank you for the reply; since last posting i have been busy cleaning up the Nsr cover, & making good some botched repairs on the osr unit,
I would certainly like to be considered if new replacement covers are available ,
Meanwhile i will be attemting to make good the nsr unit to a 'more reasonable standard'
Just so i can get using the car in the future months ,
Re the stud issue i welcome any assistance available .

Kind regards ,
Roger
