Hello, I've been lurking about this excellent tree of knowledge for a few weeks, ever since I picked up the 'project' car from north Derbyshire, that had been on Facebook MP for a while. It's my first Lotus and I didn't want to play my hand to early, if it turned out to be a nothing more than a pretty paperweight! Any how, to cut a long story shorter, I've recommissioned it and drove it down my road and back for the first time (in about 13 yrs) yesterday - it was BLOODY GREAT. Not perfect, the left light pod goes down with the switch, then comes back up again after 4.5 seconds! There's some, as yet unidentified east-west play in the front wheels/steering rack, and it doesn't have a roof (but it never rains in Derbyshire, so no problem).

I would like to state at this point, the shared knowledge on this forum and WikiLEC is exceptional. I try very hard not to ask questions, when I know the answer is out there and I know that that is ALWAYS the case across these sites - THANK YOU.

Looks like a good base for a project just beware the 'to do' list seldom gets shorter on these cars!

In the photo is your son praying or saying "Oh no what has Dad done now?" :D

It’s the single facepalm, obviously
The double facepalm comes later!

Just kidding.
Good job and welcome aboard!
