New M100 owner

Postby Scooby870 » Tue 14.11.2023, 22:26

Evening to all LEC members.

I have only just joined the forum, but have been reading many posts for a while. Felt it was not right until I owned a M100.
Now that I have one, I felt I would join.

I am In Wiltshire, I would really like Specky to message me as I am not far from him. As I have quickly worked out he is the font of knowledge. As I don’t currently have PM’s active could someone message Specky should not see my post.

Thanks for allowing me to join. Look forward to my new ownership to r

Hi, and welcome to LEC.

Now that your 'fist post' has been approved, you will have PM access and can send messages to other members.

welcome.

Specky has demonstrated a lot of knowledge over the years with he's posts. but i dont recall seeing him posting recently (in fact at all this year)

dropping a PM wont do any harm. but you may find out its a lot faster to use the search feature than to wait for someone to reply to your PM.

there may be a monthly gather up someplace withing your trvel distance, id suggest check that section of the forum and dropping a message in those threads, some people only look at specific sections of the forum and wont be reading all new posts.

Nah, Dave hasn't been on here for ages. Probably too busy servicing choppers in Iraqistan.

Anyway, welcome to the M100 club. There are lots of people on here with huge knowledge of the M100 so, in Specky's absence, go ahead and ask questions. Mind you, Dave is particularly knowledgeable on all things pre-production.

Jonathan also lives in Wiltshire just outside Malmesbury and is probably your nearest font of knowledge.

And, at the end of May, we meet up at Castle Combe on the Saturday for a Club Lotus meet. There is usually a hardcore of about 10 of us who make a w/e of it with camping at Burton Hill in Malmesbury. Saturday always finishes with a very good curry organised by Jonathan.

So, a date for your diary to meet up with fellow enthusiasts.

Thankyou all for welcoming me to the group.
I love to research cars, I am also into my early John Cooper Works Mini cars.
Lotus being a new area for me. Trying to absorb the great knowledge of this group.

Will get some pictures sorted soon.

Would be good to speak to Jonathan as I am not far from him.

I have tried on other means to reach out to Dave Speck, will see if this works

Thanks
Mark

And a right friendly font, at that. I don't think he hangs on LEC as much as in past years but you'll find most of us longtimers come and go occasionally, just to catch up. Welcome!
