Hi
I've been searching and looking round the forum and so far I'm not put off from Elan ownership !!
I'm looking for a well maintained car that won't break the bank (say 5k to 5.5k)
If anyone knows of a good one please let me know .. I'm located in Chesterfield Derbyshire and the car won't be used everyday just when the sun comes out (not often then)
I've seen plenty for sale but TBH don't trust most of them which I know I'll have to get over
Seen this in Glossop Derbyshire for sale and wondered if anyone knows of it
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311569676091? ... EBIDX%3AITMany Thanks
Simon

Hello Simon and Welcome to LEC ...
The car you have highlighted is from a ex member called Kier .
it is / was well known to us due to its one off colour and Kier being an active member .
you may be able to search more about the car if you use the advanced search and search kier .
All the best and good luck with your search
Jim Clark S2 - 1/12. The one with the Yellow spoke wheels . No 613 on dash (pushed in to factory in wrong order 615 on tub)

Kier looked after the car well but it's been off the radar for a couple of years and the price seems to have gone up quite a bit too......have a search on here and you'll see the car
Cheers G
Ps I'm not too far from you in Buxton

I'm going to see it at 3.30 today ... will report back on my findings and won't be rushed into a rash purchase (like I believe that last bit ) !!

Great ... I was trying to find that thread ...
Scratch the bit about viewing as even though he says the front has been repainted he never mentioned the key situation or anything else
So ... TBH I've lost faith in the seller already
I'll keep looking

Unfortunately I think it's a typical dealer who's just out to make a great wad of cash as fast as possible.....
I'd still go and have a look and drive just to get your eye in.......
You will need to gauge others against it

I'm fairly sure Kier let it go a couple of years ago for peanuts. £1500 from memory so this is some mark up
