I did not know where to put this, so why not here
Yesterday the air-conditioning was filled by a friendly member. As far as i can verify it was the first service ever since factory install! Only 250 gram R134a added to the system! Not bad for a system that has been in use for over 20 years
However, every time when the compressor clutch is engaged the belt squeaks a little like there is a bird trapped under the bonnet! Is there any maintenance that I can perform on the clutch or pump so that it starts with less resistance?

Edit: It was a little overfilled, now running smooth again

I am just 1 day away from being a happy and fortunate M100 driver and LEC member for an amazing 15 years!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything I have learned on here, and everybody that I have met here on LEC or during Lotus tours, be it online or in the flesh!
The forum is great, the people on here are even better and this is by far the most pleasant forum to hang out, period. The unbelievable amount of knowledge here is priceless and without it I would not have enjoyed my beloved M100 for such a long time. It has turned out to be a wonderful journey all together.

But now it is time to move on and thus make some space for new adventures, be it with unavoidable tears in the eyes...
The plan is to sell my fine LHD S2 this spring, sell my brilliant Lexus as well, break the piggy bank, and start keeping an eye open for an Evora S (Lotus again, what else)

Don't worry (or DO worry) too much though, because I will stay on LEC and keep on maintaining and upgrading M100's for friends, and perhaps even restore a complete M100 again.

Wow, congrats! Such nice words that I couldn't agree with you more; thanks for being a big part of what makes it great too! And as long as you aren't a stranger here, then it should be a celebration that more folks will get to enjoy the elan you've taken great care of.

But does this mean you need to get a new garage to go with the new car? Can't wait to see photos of what Evora finally catches you.

I'm glad that I don't have to say 'goodbye' to you as a member on here (and a friend)..... but I accept that there comes a time when a move to another car becomes appropriate. I am fortunate enough that I have plenty of room here to keep as many cars as I am likely to ever want, so the Elan is unlikely to ever be sold (unless they suddenly become worth a million quid or so).

On behalf of LEC I want to publicly thank you for the help you have given to everyone over the years, and the many engineering 'solutions' you have established to either start new projects, continue others, or whatever, and for all the advice you have freely given to those in need.

You were one of the first to help me when I first joined LEC and it was a pleasure to meet you on our trip to Ypres in 2013 and again a few years later at Van de Koy motors for a 30 year celebration of Lotus, I think.
Good luck with your search for the Evora and it is good to know you will still be active on LEC. We may need your knowledge!?

Quite a few LEC'rs have made the transition whilst also keeping their M100 for a bit of fun.... me, Fredjohn, Alan, Philflasherman, Dave Eds (now gone) etc....

i would love myself on of them as well. unfortunately with a price tag that close to a S4 esprit (the bedroom poster car from my youth) its both outside my budget and probably not the first option.

For me the Evora would go before i would part with the M100 but that maybe because i Don't know how much longer i will be able to get in and out of the Evora.

The process will take some time, so my beloved Calypso red is not gone yet.
First I will fix a couple of small things so that the M100 is in pristine condition for the lucky buyer
It just had a A + B + C service so hopefully trouble-free driving for a long time
Then I will put it up for sale, in the state how I would like to buy it.

Also I need to sell our other beloved car, the Lexus GS 450h F-sport, also an acquired taste, but a fast and economical (Hybrid) luxury saloon, so i expect to sell that one faster then the M100.
Meanwhile I also sell a lot of stuff that I am not using, to get as many tokens as possible, when the hunt for an Evora starts. (Hi-end Audio anyone?)

I hope the Evora will bring as much Joy as the M100 did and I don't make a stupid mistake here... Well, only one way to find out right? I already jumped, so no way back now!
Too bad I don't have the pennies or the space to keep the M100 as well.

I am currently still flexible enough to get in and out an Evora But since it is 11 cm's wider then the M100, getting out in the garage will be a challenge the least.
Also I can't wait to hear first hand experiences on the Emira from (former) M100 owners! Keep us posted OK?

Meanwhile I'll keep you posted on the Evora transition progress (it will be slow) and open new topics on any M100 Jobs that are already planned for 2023
I'm not gone, only my Elan will be!
