Hi all
I have had an Azure blue SE for 18 months for me it is the Best 'British' roadster i have ever driven/owned.
Found this site very usefull in the past just browsing as a guest. I have now decided to join as i have a major job to do - cylinder head gasket. Well capable of doing it myself as i am an aircraft engineeer but just need some advise regarding the headbolts - are they the stretch type that need to be replaced on removal?
Would like to here from others for their advice/experiences undertaking this job.
regards Mark k

Hi Mark,
They are not the stretch type so can be re-used.

Mark K,
Whereabouts in Oxon are you?
Specky is sometimes Oxon, sometimes Wilts, and I'm in Benson village.
Welcome, and good luck with the cylinder head gasket.

Welcome to LEC Mark there are a few of us here with aircraft connections (somewhat tenuous in some cases and very direct in others). There are a good number who've changed head gaskets, the best advice I can offer until one of them comes along is use the proper gasket as some have had the pleasure of repeating the job because an apparantly suitable, cheaper alternative was used.

Many thanks for the welcome from all, and the advice/information from those concerned. In answer to other oxon based i am in witney and spent 25 years serving Queen and country finishing my career locally thus my current situation, needless to say glad to be out of it under the current circumstances. Know Benson from the past spent a couple of years in the area, i would like to meet and swap info and chat is there a local meet?
regards
