New Member Old Bald man from the North.

Greetings from the Frozen North!! As a new member I thought it about time I introduced myself.

At my age I should know better - but if can't grow old disgracefully what else is there ? So as a sudden rush of madness/sanity, I bought a 91 reg Norfolk Yellow SE which was a little sad looking, in need of some TLC. While not a concourse example, and I suppose it never will be is very usable.

Can any body let me know if there are going to be any get togethers in my area, also if The le Mans Classic or Silverstone Classics are on the cards this year?

Albeit from the wrong side of the Pennines from your point of view!

This may be what you're looking for as regards meets, although there are others as well. As one member put it, organising these get-togethers is bit like trying to "herd cats". In my experience, it's much more difficult than that.

Keep your eye on that thread because I feel the meeting up bug might soon be rousing from its winter hibernation. I'll look forward to meeting you and seeing your Elan.

There will be things going on localish
I organise a charity run through the peak district early july
Also sort free tickets to the gold cup at outon park
Many other things too.....were finalising details at my LDC/CLOG meet this coming sunday

We normally meet at the Lotus festival in Donington, but it appears to not have been organised this year. Hopefully something will be sorted. The annual Donington convoy has been really special in the past. It is an amazing feeling to be a part of it.

Other regional meets take place from time to time.
Is it me or has the entire community gone a little quiet lately?
Autumn parts fair at Stoneleigh has not happened for a few years.
No national Lotus festival this year.
This forum is nowhere near as lively as it used to be.

Hopefully things will turn around. I have made some very good friends from this place.

Hi OBMFTN - There is no annual Club Lotus Donington show this year and the August show will not return. Feedback from visitors and exhibitors favours the original April slot but there is no time for CL to organise this for April 2012. However, CL have confirmed that Donington will be back on in April 2013.

CL are concentrating on the Silverstone Classics in July this year as the baby Elan will be 50. There is also a Castle Combe trackday in May and a Lotus festival at Brand Snatch (formerly Snetterton) in August
