It's high time I introduced myself, having been an Elan owner now for 2 months!
I bought my Calypso Red Elan Turbo from UK Sportscars near Canterbury at the end of June 2012, and drove her 1000 km straight back to Germany, where I live (Eckernförde, near the Danish border). It's great fun seeing the reactions of the Germans to my car, Lotus is well-known here, mainly thanks to the F1 team, but in 10 years here I've only seen 2 or 3 on the road. The car wasn't really that well looked after by a previous owner, who seemed to enjoy kerbing the alloys, the leather seats were dirty and the exhaust quickly developed a big hole. But I've now addressed these issues and she looks like new!
The Elan is ideally suited to the twisty, deserted country lanes we have here in northern Germany, and of course is great fun on the Autobahn!

as for some reason it's still advertised as being for sale, despite having been sold for the past 2 1/2 months...
Obviously would love to hear from anyone who happens to be in the southern Denmark or Hamburg area, but don't hold out much hope!
